What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in/Check-out times for boarding are between 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. If you need to arrange for alternative check-in or check-out times, please contact us by phone (985)214-9072 or text (through Pawfinity) in advance. Early Check-In/Late Check-Out is $25 and you must have pre-approval.

What vaccinations are required for boarding?

All dogs must be up to date on their Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella vaccinations. Proof of vaccinations is required 72 hours prior to check-in. If your dog requires any additional vaccinations, please consult with your veterinarian prior to their stay.

Can you administer medication to my dog during their stay?

Yes, our trained staff can administer routine medications/supplements to your dog during their stay. Please provide clear instructions and labeled medication containers upon check-in. Certain medical conditions such as Diabetes and Epilepsy require more advanced monitoring/treatment than a boarding facility can provide and we recommend that your pet stay at a facility with a doctor on staff to receive the care they need. If your veterinarian does not provide this service, please contact our New Orleans location at (504)265-8659 to see if they can accommodate you.

Are there any breed restrictions for boarding?

No, we do not have any breed restrictions for boarding. All dogs are welcome at Gause Paws.If your pet has any aggression issues, for their safety and the safety of our other guests, please inform us ahead of time and we will do our best to accommodate you if we have the space.

Does my pet need to be spayed/neutered to board?

Yes, all dogs and cats over the age 6 months must be spayed or neutered and we recommend (but do not require) microchipping.

How often will my dog be exercised during their stay?

We provide multiple exercise sessions throughout the day for our boarding guests. Dogs have access to our spacious outdoor kennels a minimum of 3 times per 24 hours and are supervised by our trained staff. Additional play time and activities are available for an additional charge. See our pricing for services here.

What should I bring when dropping off my dog for boarding?

When dropping off your dog for boarding, please bring any medications they require, their food in individually packaged meal portions (if not choosing our premium house food), and any special instructions you have for our staff. If you chose to leave a blanket or toy with your pet, please make sure it is labeled with their full name and understand that while we will do everything possible to protect it, these items do sometimes get lost or damaged so we recommend not bringing anything special to you or your pet - we do provide plush bedding for their comfort.
